QEI DURHAM PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
If you are new to QEI, we welcome you to this wonderful school and hope you will enjoy your stay here! The PTA benefits our children in many ways. Throughout the year, we will be looking for your help as a volunteer, not only for activities and fundraisers, but, maybe most importantly, in meetings where we welcome ideas on how we can help enrich our children’s education.
Our PTA parents have any different backgrounds. The PTA has six committees they are Fundraising, Hospitality, Education/Curriculum, Community Service, Yearbook, and Technology. We strive to improve, guide, support, and motivate teachers and students. We value parent involvement at every level and encourage you to volunteer with us to give your child the most powerful and joyous learning experience possible.
Our dues and fundraisers help pay for budget items such as laminating paper, refreshments for Open House and Graduation, special programs and workshops for the students and teachers, classroom supplies for the teachers, as well as special projects such as upgrades to the computer lab/media center.
Please join us in improving our school! You can get started now. Below are some passive-fund raising activities such as grocery store courtesy cards, (registering your courtesy card so that purchases made at designated vendors provide a commission payable to the school), collecting printer cartridges, and even online shopping. Recycling Opportunities
The Funding Factory recycles cell phones, ink jet, and laser printer cartridges that have been used once (no recycled cartridges, please!). We accumulate points that we can then trade for supplies we need for the school.
