About Us

QEI offers your child an opportunity to excel in her/his academics. We welcome students to enjoy the confidence found in being able to read and to reason. Students should be able to show growth from the esteem they build through their ability to understand and to report written material, as we encourage students to express their personal satisfaction in being able to comprehend and follow directions. Students enjoy learning in a traditional classroom setting focused on the basics and enhanced by learning centers and hands-on activities. With our focus on a Christ-centered education, QEI's teachers assume the responsibility of training students spiritually, emotionally, morally, and intellectually. Each day has established routines to teach consistency. Morning devotional time is followed by daily instruction emphasizing the areas of math, phonics/ language, spelling, and handwriting, as well as health, history, and science. Students attend weekly special activities in the areas of art, physical education, dance, choir and creative writing. Quality Education Institute is focused on creating in our students the best versions of themselves with a focus of leading students to an understanding and response to how obedience, doing their best and taking care of themselves and each other circle back to living a Christian life.

QEI offers a comprehensive kindergarten-readiness program (K4/K5) customized to enhance the learning abilities of kindergarten-ready children. These children learn through phonics-based instruction, alphabet, shapes and numbers recognition, and hands-on manual-dexterity training. Because we understand the importance of establishing a morning routine, our K4 and K5 begin each morning with our morning devotional time, complete with affirmations, reciting the alphabet, days of the week, months of the year and counting. QEI's K4 and K5 Program of Study are designed to form a solid academic foundation. The curriculum emphasizes skills designed to build vocabulary, and the fundamentals of written expression. Additional focus is placed on the importance of Bible, science, social studies and the integration of concepts and skillsets that enhance future learning and development. Students at all grades also participate in physical education, dance, choir, art and creative writing.

Our 1 & 2nd grade classes are combined and follow the Department of Public Instruction Course of Study. Students build upon their literary knowledge and begin to be fully immersed in mathematics, science and social studies. First grade students master understanding addition and subtraction, time (on analog clocks), as well as an introduction to multiplication and division along with other facts. While 1st grade develops those skills, 2nd grade master division facts, measurement, congruence and symmetry, as well as graphs data and probability. Both grade levels are exposed to an overview of social studies, that includes geography, the founding of our nation, black history, landforms and inventions and inventors.

Our 3rd through 5th grade classes are also combined and though there is some academic overlap, the teacher is able to differentiate instruction, in accordance to the DPI Course of study by grade level. Students exhibit independence through learning how to take notes, outlining and writing 3 to 5 paragraph essays and exhibiting their knowledge of multiplication and division quick facts. All students enrolled in 3rd through 5th grades must complete a science fair project, an ecosystem project, as well as book reports each semester. We utilize the Pearson curriculum for our core subjects, however, each teacher supplements the materials with North Carolina, as well as world-wide subject matter that may be lacking in the texts. We also use Abeka, the Christian based curriculum company to provide our students with a more broadened view of the world. Our school provides a superior quality education for students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Language arts, spelling, science, social studies, and math are key subjects in which the students excel. We also instruct students in additional co-curricular classes to enhance their holistic education. QEI is certified by the State of North Carolina as a private school. We test our students annually using the nationally accepted ITBS standardized test.
